What can make a protecting, loving, caring, ever providing
father change his words to his children?
The same who told them in time past not to fear and promise
that he is with them, he again is saying he will bring their fears upon them
and choose their delusions.
Two things went wrong according to the verse above:
1.
1. God spoke none of them heard
2.
2. They chose that in which he has no delight.
Those two things can even break a human-to-human relationship.
How insulting it is when you speak to your friend and he blocked his ears or
ignored your words? I can easily conclude the person doesn’t need my presence
around, I’ll just excuse myself.
A good parent knows what their kids have delight in and vice
versa. A good husband knows the delights of his wife. If any of the mentioned
party should get something contrary, that’s a way to call for trouble.
If as human such things offend us, how much more God who
loves us with forgiving and undying love. He wants you to listen when he speaks
and he wants your wish/will to be transformed to his. Don’t go for what he
hates.
Pray God opens your deaf ears to hear when he speaks and
help your decision making to be by his leading.
