Some Principles or Safe tips for Kingship – Deut. 17:16-20

1.    He shall not multiply horses to himself: the first goal some people have once they attain glory is to enrich themselves, definitely this is not ideal, not a good start for someone who want to finish well, this kind of start will make him never to be satisfied, he will even collect the horses of those who have little like Jezebel’s husband.

2.       He shall not cause the people to return to Egypt: there is always something bad in the history of every kingdom, every position you get to, there is the wrong way they’ve worked or they are treading, don’t make the people under you do wrong by taking them back to their Egypt’s, don’t operate in there evil past and don’t introduce an evil future to them.

3.       Don’t multiply wives to yourself: wife can be anything you wish to have many but it’s ideal, safe and holy to have just one, something that can get you addicted, the implication of this is that your heart will be turned away from God. When you look at these wives or ask opinion from them, in their midst is the one with no or little knowledge of whom God is, most of them don’t even know how you started, so their opinion might be incomplete and might drive your heart away gradually, so is their requests because you have to spend time with all of them, we all know where such decision landed Solomon even David when he sought after another man’s wife.

4.       Silver and Gold: should be just moderate else you just realize one day that you have all you need and what it takes and just ignore God, that will be gravy though.

5.       Don’t detach from the source: this book of law must not depart from you, meditate on it day and night so you will learn to fear God. Don’t stop praying, you might think people are praying for you but to your greatest surprise you won’t even exist in their prayers.

Partner with God, he is a king and if you want to survive as a king or future king, he has to be your number one role model.
