I HAVE A BEST FRIEND

As a baby, you got almost all the attentions needed, you are five, they no longer carry you everywhere, they drop you in school and pick you later, you are now ten, they call a cab, help us drop our daughter in school, at fifteen, you call the cab yourself, you go different places just on your own, yah, you’ve got friends from school, they can’t miss school because you are sick but you have to stay in the hospital, mum and dad will check after work, friends will visit once in a while. You walk down the street - just you, you think- just you, you feeling weird -just you. Everyone around behaves annoying -just you.

You have many people around you but not every one of them can go everywhere, anytime and every time with you.

No greater love than this, that a friend will give his life for his friend, they all love you but the moment you are dying they still stay by you, the moment you die, it’s just you, it’s rare to get one who can volunteer to die with you or even die for you.

Who in each sorrow bears apart, he feels what you feel, he sees each tear that falls, he ears you when you call. What a friend, be in the lion’s den he is there with you, go to the land of the dead, he is there, in the dark when no other friend can see you, he watches over you. When you can’t express what you feeling, he has a word for it. He keeps telling you, you are not in this alone.

All our sins and grieves to bear, he didn’t sin but because of some ungrateful sinners he called his friends, he was stained with sin, beaten, stoned, flogged, pierced, disgraced, betrayed, forsaken, just for some friends he loved.

Everyone have their own life to live, he lived a selfless life because of his friends, and he might not eat just for his friends to eat. He can trek miles just to reach out to old and new friends. His line is always reachable, no network failure, there is a smooth connection to him; he’s got nothing doing other than attending to these friends.

He is the only friend that has millions of other friends and no one complains of less attention. The best manager of friends, he knows each friend by their names, he knows their best color, best outfit, best food, mood, he can tell when each wants to talk, he can tell when one just needs to cry. He is with all these friends all the time, at different locations and at the same time. When you tell him a thing, he won’t tell another. He won’t condemn you he would rather correct you.

Men will try but they can never love you as Jesus would do, I have a friend in Jesus, he is everything to me. He is a friend whose attention I don’t have to call before I get, he knows the best of all choices available in front of me, he solves the toughest of all problems, he is tested and trusted, he is guaranteed not to fail. He is my best friend.
