Ahaz
doesn’t need to physically close the door of God’s house before we conclude he
did. From the start of his reign, he has been imperfect, he did things outside
the will of God, till the very end, his life was nothing to reckon with God.
Hezekiah
happens to be his son, from the start of his reign, he honored God, and in the
very first month of the first year he opened the door of the Lord’s house.
When you
close the door of God’s house, there will surely be other door(s) opened, doors
not of God, and likewise when you open it, other door(s) would be shut and just
his door in your life will be opened.
Hezekiah
had a bad and evil father, who lived wrong and wasn’t an example of a godly
father. But you should wonder why Hezekiah was his opposite, why the father
closed the good door and the son opened it. Many times we attribute our failure
to the kind of parent we have, they were bad, I could not help myself, they made
me this evil, they never showed me the way of the Lord, I had to survive
whatever way. Then you do wrongs.
I was listening to a man of God one evening, Joel
Osteen by name, he made a point that you only came through your parent, you come from
God, two different things, Jesus came through Mary but he was from God.
There
are survivors, people whose parent already close the door of God’s house but
stood their ground and opened it. Remember what Jesus said in Luke 19:40, that
if these should hold their peace, the stone will cry out in their stead
You are
not doing God any favor if you serve him, you are rather doing yourself a big favor.
No excuse as to why you are not serving God, a sense of responsibility will
help you a lot in this journey, if you fail its you not some set of people who
didn’t show up.
As a
person is taking a step out of the kingdom, millions replacements are been made.
He saw things were in disorder he arranged all to the glory of God. What is
your attitude as a leader or follower as part of the body of Christ, are you
arranging or scattering, are you closing the door of the Lord’s house or
opening it.
Are you
giving room to limitations or you are taking a step forward in serving God?.
