People had faith in Saul, Saul
had faith in the man of God, the man of God had faith in God. Samuel gave 7
days, when he didn’t show up, the people started leaving, maybe they were
saying stuff like, Saul you are on your own, If you want to die you have to die
alone we will go to where we can be secured.
He was touched by their actions
and reacted by doing an abominable thing that activated his “quit notice” as a
king.
God didn’t punish the people but
him, he didn’t say why did you guys leave, why did you make my servant to sin,
no. remember Moses, he was angry at the people and transferred the aggression
on the rock, he was punished for that not considering how choking the people
had been
It doesn’t matter what people say
or think about what God is asking you to do, their opinion is of less
importance, their negative actions shouldn’t make you react negatively, you
were the one given instruction not them.
