The Greek woman (mark 7:25-30),
she was not the son (not the qualified son) but she was around when the son
wasn’t, she ran to the father when the son didn’t, she asked when the qualified
son wouldn’t.
She knew herself to be a servant
and Jesus threw that at her face, but she wouldn’t mind the insult, even if am
not your son “yet the dogs under the table eat of the children’s crumbs”. Even
if am not your legitimate son, I at least stick around you, always under your
table, more available than your real son.
Exactly the message, if you as a
son feels too important to make yourself available for your father’s use, there
are many servants out there that just wish to touch the helm of his garment but
you have access to the full garment and do nothing with it.
God is not a respecter of
persons, wouldn’t give to the servant what belongs to the son but he will give
to each according as to the work of their hands.
As a son don’t expect too much if
you are putting in too little effort.
